Hi guys, i know there is a lot of good write ups and i have read them. As all recommendations suggest to tune all to zero and just dial the set up and up until the gauge shows you the number you want. I have started from 30% and only around 70 to 80% i am getting around 10 to 12 pounds on my apexi boost gauge (unless its lying to me :))
i am trying to get 12 pounds consistent maybe 14 with stock engine turbos , 555 ic's, ecu, side mounts stillen, dual maf pop (afc2), and other bolt ons'
If i leave the set at the 70 to 80 % and start dialing set gain (start boost ) at the desired 12 pounds (120 on the screen) my boost starts acting up going all the way to 16 to 17 pounds. In the beginning i just dialed the set % to 30 to 40 to 50 hoping to get at least to 10 pound mark but all i am getting to is 7 to 8.5 pounds ( the gain is set to 5% cant get it lower as it is preset at 5%
i dont have stock boost solenoids. I have placed the boost solenoid all the way by the MAF's in the front, maybe as all are saying my hoses are too long and i need to take the solenoid closer to the fire wall?
any feedback would be great.
I have a dyno day on Tuesday and i want to get this boost controller to work (its new not used just fyi).
As far as i understood the Gain setting should go up if the boost spikes and goes down and doesnt stay at one level.
As ash said put the set gain one pound lower than the desired boost, so if i put set gain at 120 or 110 what should be my SET at ? or the Set Value is drastically different from car to car?
